The Commission approved allocating $500,000 of American Rescue Plan Act funds to go towards the Macon Volunteer Clinic, officials say

Macon, GA – Officials also announced that these funds will reportedly be used towards the move and build out of a larger medical services facility.

The Macon Volunteer Clinic is non-profit, medical home for low income, working, uninsured residents of Macon-Bibb County.

The doctors and dentists donate their time and services to the clinic. Since opening in 2003, the clinic has been located in the same 4,800 square foot building on the corner of Rogers Avenue and Ingleside Avenue.

White says the new space is about 8,000 square feet and has better parking, security, and a zip code where there is a high percentage of uninsured people needing these services.

The funding from the County will allow Macon Volunteer Clinic to move forward with the leasing of the space and renovations.
