Macon, GA – According to the city officials, improvements to the park will feature with new seating, enhanced shading, and will be leveled off to be more accessible for events.
There will also be a wall honoring local luminaries.
There was already close to $1 million in the improvements account now, and this allocation will bring the total amount of money to about $2.5 million.
Commissioner Elaine Lucas released the following statement:
“This has been a long time coming. We’ve been waiting and anticipating for progress on this project and we’re finally moving in the right direction.
I’m especially happy since I’ll be leaving the Commission at the end of the year and this is a project that I’ve had on my list for many years, so it’s nice to check this one off my list.”
