Bike Walk Macon is thrilled to introduce the inaugural Macon’s Big Bike Ride, set to take place on Friday, November 1, 2024, as part of Downtown Macon’s First Friday festivities

Macon, GA – Officials released a statement, saying that this exciting new event and fundraiser aims to gather hundreds of Middle Georgia bicyclists to advocate for safer streets, promote connectivity, and encourage a healthier, more vibrant community.

The ride will kick off from Cherry Street Plaza at 6:30 PM, guiding participants on a scenic 7-mile slow roll through Downtown Macon and neighboring areas. The event is designed to accommodate all ages and skill levels, making it accessible for everyone from beginners to seasoned cyclists.

Riders will have opportunities to pause at various points along the route to take in the sights, learn about ongoing transportation projects, and engage with fellow participants.

Macon’s Big Bike Ride is not just a celebration of cycling—it represents a broader movement advocating for bike-friendly infrastructure, multimodal transportation options, and a robust bicycling community.

By joining the ride, participants will support Bike Walk Macon’s mission and help raise crucial funds for future community events, educational programs, and advocacy efforts.

Registration for Macon’s Big Bike Ride is $10 per person, which includes access to the ride and the after-party. Children under 10 can participate for free. Additionally, participants can purchase the inaugural Macon’s Big Bike Ride t-shirt for an extra $25.
