Bibb County Sheriff’s Office detective receives traditional fedora after closing first homicide investigation

Macon, GA – Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Major Jason Batchelor formally thanked Douglas of Klothing Kafe for donating a fedora to rookie homicide Detective Isaac Munguia after he successfully closed his first homicide investigation.

According to the sheriff’s office, Munguia received the traditional fedora as recognition for his work on the case.

The fedora has long been associated with homicide investigators and is considered a symbol earned through persistence, professionalism and the pursuit of truth.

The sheriff’s office said the donation provided an opportunity to recognize Munguia’s hard work as he reached the milestone early in his career.

Batchelor presented the formal thanks to Douglas for the donation, while Munguia was recognized for his efforts in completing his first homicide investigation.

The sheriff’s office described the fedora as more than simply a piece of clothing, noting its longstanding connection to homicide investigators and the qualities expected of detectives working to solve serious cases.

For Munguia, receiving the fedora marked the completion of his first homicide investigation and recognition of his work as a rookie member of the homicide unit.
