Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigating fatal traffic collision on Interstate 75 South near the Pierce Avenue On-ramp

Macon, GA – According to the statement, the fatal incident occurred right before 2 p.m. Monday afternoon. 

It happened on Interstate 75 South near the Pierce Avenue On-ramp.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a crash.

The responding deputies discovered a collision involving five motor vehicles.

A box truck, three pickup trucks, and a sport utility vehicle were involved in the collision.

One male motorist was discovered to have succumbed to his injuries sustained from the collision, he was identified as 66-year-old Jeffrey Davis.

Four other motorists were treated by paramedics for injuries sustained from the collision and were transported to a medical facility.

Investigators are working to determine what occurred during the collision.
