Georgia reporting nearly 2,000 new COVID-19 cases

The Georgia Department of Public Health on June 30 confirmed 1,874 additional COVID-19 cases including 21 new deaths.

The number of cumulative cases Tuesday was reported to be 81,291, up from 79,417 on Monday, June 29. During that same time, the state’s number of reported deaths rose to 2,805 from 2,784.

Hospitalizations statewide also went up — by over 200 cases — from 10,824 on Monday to 11,051 on Tuesday.

In Middle Georgia, deaths went up in Baldwin and Bibb counties during that period. In the North Central Health District, the most cases have been reported in Macon-Bibb County, with 775, Houston County, with 604, and Baldwin County, with 483 cases.
