Major beautification project for Cliffview Lake off Antioch Road begins

Macon, GA – Officials have announced that the project began thanks to the voter-approved Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax and the Public Works and Parks & Beautification Departments.

Mayor Lester Miller, Parks & Beautification Director Mike Glisson, and others held a press conference on Thursday to mark the start of the work.

The plan was for our Public Works crews to demolish a house and surrounding structures there as the first step in the overall project, but Mayor Lester decided to give them a break and take the structure down himself.

He jumped on the excavator and tore down most of it.

The idea is to make the area a park where people can walk, run, bike, fish, and make memories with their loved ones.
