The Fire Department has officially welcomed 17 new members to its family, officials say

Macon, GA – According to the statement, the Macon Fire Department held a graduation ceremony for the new firefighters at Central Georgia Technical College. 

Family and friends joined the celebration as the new class took an oath of office and were sworn in by Chief Edwards.  

The class began training January 9, immediately after the completion of the new Training Building on Tinker Drive.

They have been in intensive training ever since, officials said.
