The Georgia Department of Transportation will implement an 80-hour closure of Chatham Parkway at Interstate 16, starting at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 21, and ending at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25
Macon, GA – According to the state officials, this closure will allow contractors to complete the raising of the existing Chatham Parkway bridge over I-16 to accommodate reconstructed interstate lanes below.
During the 80-hour closure, all ramps on and off I-16 will remain open, except as noted below.
Traffic impacts during the closure period are as follows:
– **I-16 Eastbound (EB) off-ramp traffic**: Only able to turn south onto Chatham Parkway.
– **Northbound (NB) Chatham Parkway traffic** approaching I-16: Only able to turn right onto I-16 EB.
– **I-16 Westbound (WB) off-ramp traffic**: Only able to turn north onto Chatham Parkway.
– **Southbound (SB) Chatham Parkway traffic** approaching I-16: Only able to turn right onto I-16 WB.
Additionally, there will be specific closures of I-16 at Chatham Parkway during the following times:
– **Saturday, June 22, at 9 p.m. to Sunday, June 23, at 5 a.m.**:

– I-16 WB closed at Chatham Parkway
