The Macon-Bibb County held its regular Mayor’s Council of Clergy Luncheon at the Delores A. Brooks Community Center on Thursday, December 14, 2023

Macon, GA – According to the officials, during this meeting, the lecture was held by Dr. Edwin Mack of Unionville Missionary Baptist Church and comments were made by Sheriff Davis, Judy Gordon and Joshua Hale.   

Officials also said that Sheriff Davis gave an overview on what the Department is working on and recent statistics, those including the criminal homicide rate being down by 42% and the aggravated assault rate being down by 22% compared to last year.  

The Council typically meets every other month to give our local faith leaders an opportunity to discuss issues facing their congregants and the community at large.

They also have the chance to talk with other ministers and organizations aimed at promoting peace and justice in our community.
