The Macon-Bibb County Pedestrian Safety Review Board recently convened its second Pedestrian Summit at the Bibb Professional Learning Center, marking another significant step in their ongoing mission to enhance roadway safety

Macon, GA – Attended by representatives from key entities such as the Engineering Department, Bike Walk Macon, and various other organizations, alongside PSRB members, the summit served as a platform for collaborative discussions on vital issues.

With monthly meetings focusing on policy, legislation, public outreach, engineering, enforcement, and interagency coordination, the board remains dedicated to comprehensive approaches to pedestrian safety.

In recent years, the PSRB has championed numerous initiatives aimed at improving safety conditions. These efforts have resulted in tangible outcomes, including the appointment of a Traffic Safety Manager, dedicated funding for infrastructure enhancements, speed reduction measures, implementation of traffic calming solutions in residential areas, collaboration with the Georgia Department of Transportation on the Gray Highway project, and extensive outreach initiatives targeting pedestrians.
