A convicted felon caught with a gun during a traffic stop in Macon has pleaded guilty in federal court to illegally possessing the firearm

Macon, GA – According to the court documents, this incident occurred around 1:10 a.m. in January 2020.

A Georgia State Patrol Trooper pulled over 26-year-old Shakqylion Coxton.

When the Trooper approached his vehicle, there was a loaded .38 Special in plain sight on the passenger’s seat next to Coxton.

The suspect admitted he knew it was illegal for him to have the weapon.

He faces up to 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release.
